Our students, teachers, families—all of us in the “FA”mily—are so grateful for your recent gift to the Friends of Foundation Academies, Inc., for which no goods or services were provided to you.

Foundation Academies was founded in 2007 with the belief that any child—regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic background—can thrive, given the right academic setting. We set out to build a community where students are challenged academically and where a focus on values and relationship-building drives character development, with a mission to prepare students for the nation’s top colleges. And we are succeeding.

We currently serve more than 1000 children across four great Trenton public schools.

Our students (admitted by random lottery) still, consistently, outperform the state averages. FA is ranked in the 92nd percentile of NJ schools.

All of our graduates have been accepted to four-year colleges

Parents overwhelmingly believe that their children are both supported and challenged and that Foundation Academies is a safe and welcoming place to learn.

Still, nearly 500 children are currently stuck on our waiting list.

This year, we are being tested in multiple ways: mentally, physically, emotionally, and technologically. A global pandemic couldn’t stop our students, staff, and volunteers from innovatively and creatively developing strategies for excellent teaching and learning. Our donors have stepped up, too.

With your generosity, we are working to address the following areas of need in our school community:

Student Enrichment: With our scholars learning from home for most of the school year, donations to the Friends of FA were crucial to providing class enrichment and support, at-home technology, and supplies.

The Knight Fund: Our Alumni Support efforts are growing to reach more FA grads! In 2021, we launched the Round Table Scholarship program to provide multi-year financial awards to graduating seniors that will support them through college and on to successful careers.

Responsible Growth: We were able to better attract and onboard great teachers, train and develop our faculty, and foster a shared sense of community, even while physically apart.
