Foster Care is personal to me.....
As a young girl I remember the photos on my grandma's wall of the children I never met - I remember the stories from my mom of her foster siblings....
In 3rd grade, that same grandmother would temporarily become a kinship caregiver to me...
At 25 years old I would become a kinship caregiver to my 12-year-old sister....
Shortly after I turned 36, Greg and I would accept our first placement as licensed foster parents..... that sweet girl is now our daughter....
7 years ago, I along with a group of local foster parents began to serve our foster care community with what would eventually become Foster Pantry, a 501c3 charity...
Today, Foster Pantry is not only my passion, but it is my place of employment and am blessed to be able to continue to serve our local foster care community as the Executive Director and it would not be possible without the support of our community!
I know first-hand the impact the support that Foster Pantry has on our kids in foster care and their caregivers, because it's a support that did not exist when I cared for my sister or welcomed our first placement home - and Foster Pantry provides the support and network that kept me sane and connected on the roller coaster of foster care!
