Shelter the Shivering with Street Level

Are you snuggled up tight in a wam blanket right now watvhing tv, or cooking in your kitchen feeling the heat of the oven, or complaining because your wife turned the heat on too high and you are now sweating, or even driving in your car with the heat blasting? I would gaurantee one of those applies to almost everyone reading this while we have over 90 homeless, that we know by name, out on the streets at this exact moment. During the winter, we shelter at a local hotel when temps drop below 27 degrees or there is a winter storm warning. We are currently preparing to hotel for 10 nights during this Arctic front moving in, if funds allow. We then plan to expect at least two more long sheltering events this winter. Having a warm place to lay your head is not a concern for many, but we LOVE and care for the few who have no place to find warmth. There is currently no established warming center in Cape Girardeau. Without Street Level our homeless neighbors have no where to go to flee from the elements. Please help us continue to shelter the shivering.

 The days we shelter we also try to provide one hot meal a day, as well as a bag of non-perisable items. We provide toiletries and clothes as needed, also. Every dollar collected is used specifically for the needs of the homeless.
