The One Brother One Sister Program, a program under the 501c3 nonprofit Addicted Communities Coalition, was initiated as a result of Co-Founder Karyn Hurley losing her brother Michael , a firefighter and veteran. Mike ended his life of trauma and addiction alone in his house in upstate New York. The devastating news created an urgency to help those who suffer from trauma, addiction and mental health but struggle to acknowledge or understand the issues.

We provided First Responder specific training in the areas of, Mental Wellness, Addictions and Trauma. The educational courses are presented as one day trainings that are supported by sponsorships and donors. There is never a cost to the First Responder themselves.

Knowledge and confidence in dealing with the myriad of issues that our First Responders face everyday can be the difference in a long and healthy career and a tragic story of addiction, violence and suicide.

One Brother One Sister has trained over 600 police and fire service members in the state of Florida over the last 18 months. This has created a demand throughout Florida and other states for our trainings, and we need your help to do this.

Each donation will be used in direct service to our mission of furthering education about Mental Wellness, Addictions and Trauma, so that we can all help those who do so much for all of us each day.
