Bring goats to schools in 2023!!

We regularly receive requests from schools to provide educational programs and content in conjunction with grazing services, but a lack of funding in the schools’ budgets and our need to sustain our organization via our grazing operation often prevent us from making this kind of programming a reality.

You can change that!

City Grazing is uniquely positioned to offer captivating sustainability-in-action demonstrations that can help students see themselves as stewards of nature. We have already been granted $18,000 to fund a series of 5 grazing-in-schools projects, improving the fire resilience in traditionally under-resourced neighborhoods while simultaneously helping students learn about grazing, sustainability, soil, carbon sequestration, plants, and more through on-campus grazing.

Every dollar counts as these projects benefit the goats as much as the students! Kids-for-Kids will let us provide a critical missing resource in our community. We’ll also offer the educational materials for free in a digital format or at low cost as banners and laminates to any educator as a way to bring more awareness to the issues around climate change and support the many heroes of our educational system. This could let us reach hundreds of thousands of students per year.

City Grazing welcomes and rehabilitates goats in need of a new home into our herd of urban grazing goats. This brings the healing power of nature to our cities! Grazing removes fire hazards, creates healthy topsoil, supports native plant life, fights invasive weeds, and helps plants take more CO2 out of the air and store it in the ground. Seeing goats at work gives our community hope, warms our hearts, brings us together, and inspires us to find solutions to our problems that are creative and environmentally beneficial.
