Meet Fawn, an 11-month-old puppy whose spirit is as bright as her name. Fawn was rescued by One Dog at a Time after being discovered in the aftermath of a dog-fighting operation run by an ex–NFL player. She was just a baby—frightened, hurting, and desperately needing someone to fight for her for the first time in her life.

But Fawn’s battle didn’t end with her rescue.

Fawn was born with a congenital defect in both knees, a condition that makes every step painful. She struggles to walk, to stand, even to play like a normal puppy. Despite her constant discomfort, she greets everyone with the same gentle tail wags, as if she’s saying, “I’m still trying.”
