About Freewriting

Freewriting started off as a writing technique where we scribe our thoughts without stopping, and without regard for grammar, spelling, or style. Think of it like a brain-dump of sorts. It is often used early in the writing process to gather and express ideas. The resulting piece is typically not intended to be part of the final draft, but rather as a launchpad for further ideations. Over time, it has also evolved into a practice that can be used to get unstuck, clear away any unhelpful or recurring thoughts that are limiting our flow, which helps bring about clarity and possibility.
