TICKET SALE FAQ:

Q: What is Fellow Human?

A: Fellow Human is a non-traditional theatre work with original music score made in NYC, with world-renowned jazz piano innovator ELEW, human flourishing maven Rosie von Lila, and triple threat Trevor Vaughn.

Q: Why are you having the ticket sale now?

A: By opening the ticket sale now, we generate the funds for securing our theatre venue.

Q: You don't have a venue yet?? Isn't this early to have a ticket sale?

A: By demonstrating the demand for Fellow Human and by having the funds in a separate account for our venue rental, we have leverage to negotiate with our target theaters and non-traditional venues.

Q: You don't have a date yet?? How will I get my money back if the show doesn't run?

A: This ticket sale is facilitated by our fiscal sponsor, 501c-3 New York arts nonprofit Participatory Safety, Inc. All ticket sale funds go into a restricted-funds separate account designated strictly for the venue rental. If the show doesn't run, all ticket sales will be refunded.

Q: Why are you doing it this way and having a ticket sale now?

A: By selling tickets and having a secure separate account with the venue funds ready, we accomplish two things: 1. We demonstrate there is demand for Fellow Human, which makes the show more appealing to theaters. 2. Having the funds and demonstrating demand for the show gives us a stronger position in negotiating with a venue.

Q: What happens if I can't make any of the performances once you announce the dates?

A: Your tickets are transferrable one time to another person. So long as the show runs, tickets are non-refundable but ARE transferrable a total of one time to another person of your choosing.

Q: Do you have any idea when the performances will run?

A: Our target is late 2025, but we're not ruling out 2026.

Q: How many tickets should I buy?

A: We are asking our fans who can afford it to buy a minimum of 2 tickets, and 4 tickets (or more) if you can.

Q: What about the folks who can't afford a ticket at this price? How is Fellow Human inclusive, regardless of financial status?

A: As always, we seek to include youth, artists, and people who can't afford a full-price ticket. We will make available complimentary and discount tickets through working with youth, school, and community organizations. We will also have a program for volunteering in exchange for a ticket.

Q: How many years have you been working on Fellow Human?

A: Fellow Human has been in development for the stage over 3+ years now. Across 2024, we have conducted developmental workshops, commissioned the creation of the music for the show, and are moving into the next phase of staged readings and workshop presentations.

Q: Is this a for-profit or non-profit endeavor?

A: Fellow Human is a not-for-profit theatre work, fiscally sponsored by Participatory Safety, Inc.

Q: What is human flourishing?

A: Human flourishing has been discussed and debated since at least the times when togas were fashionable. There is a substantial and rapidly growing academic field on human flourishing research. Human flourishing is a nexus of mental health, human relationships, meaningful experiences, and meaningful contribution in the world. As we articulate it in a very practical way in FELLOW HUMAN, "You are flourishing when most of the areas of your life are working sufficiently for you, and you've developed the skills for resilience to navigate adversity." Flourishing is subjective -- which means yours is unique to you.
