2025 Middle School YMCA Camp

Cowles Middle School's annual trip to Y Camp is coming up!!

On Thursday, September 25^th and Friday, September 26th, Cowles Middle School students will make memories in the Des Moines River valley of Boone, Iowa. 

We need some help to keep this tradition alive! We hope to fundraise a good portion through the Back to School BBQ and other fundraising events this year, but if families are able - we are asking for $80/student to offset unmet fundraising. This $80 would cover all necessary Y Camp fees and the bussing to and from school. 

Why do we go to Y Camp? To connect to the outdoors, and to each other!

Y Camp states, “Nature is our classroom. In our classroom the students don’t have to sit still, face forward or stand in line. Students will move, yell, giggle and play as they learn valuable lessons about nature, themselves and each other. Through our curriculum, we help students challenge themselves to do more. Our staff guide students through hands-on experiences and analysis to connect their learning to both the outside world and themselves.”

Every year when we ask students to reflect back on their favorite parts of the school year, Y Camp is always the most commonly stated highlight.
