Join the Kingstowne Communion and Nalls Produce for an all-day community apple butter slow-cook with all proceeds going straight to Rising Hope Mission.

Apple Butter cooks are an entire community effort! Slow-cooked in a big copper cauldron over a large outdoor fire, they normally take 9-10 hours, including chopping and peeling of bushels of apples, labeling jars, continued fire-kindling, and round-the-clock stirring with a big wooden paddle to be sure it doesn't scorch.

And we are hosting ours with the goal of raising at least $3,000 for Rising Hope Mission, a non-profit along the Route 1 corridor that resources and supports persons living in poverty in our area.

Join us on the day of (Saturday, November 18) as we celebrate and give thanks for the season, including all of the following and more:

Stop by anytime before dark to add what your thankful for to our large community Gratitude Wall (a great Thanksgiving picture opportunity as it fills up!)

PARTICIPATE IN APPLE BUTTER SLOW-COOK:

We need the help of our wider community to pull this off, but there are only a certain number of apple-butter-making slots, so we've created some parameters.

Here are the steps to participate in the cook:

📋 STEP 1:
Sign-up yourself or your family here for one of 40+ jar-labeling, stirring, or canning shifts between 9am and 7pm.

♥️ STEP 2:
Then, make your donation here on this, our Community Apple Butter Cook fundraising page (suggested donation $40).

🫙 STEP 3:
Purchase an 8 oz jar of the final product of fresh-made apple butter. (If you pre-reserved a jar before Thursday, November 16, you can also purchase one additional jar here.

📲 STEP 4:
Check back here for updates on our Community Apple Butter Cook throughout the day of November 18, including videos of the process along the way!

🍯 STEP 5:
Pick-up your fresh-cooked apple butter at Nalls Produce anytime on Sunday, November 19, after jarring and cooling, just in time for your Thanksgiving table.

LABEL LEVEL = $40 | Equivalent to the cost of labeling all jars of the finished product.
CIDER LEVEL = $80 | Equivalent to the cost of all cider needed for the cook.
JAR LEVEL = $150 | Equivalent to the cost of all jars needed for containering the final product.
