Cecily has always tried to value our staff, but the truth is that almost no one who works in the impossible industry of hospitality is sufficiently compensated. The hours are long and late, the labor is physical, the benefits are few, and the pay is variable and unfairly distributed for many reasons.

Now more than ever, we want to express our gratitude to the staff who have stuck it out with us and continue to work through our very last service - from the servers greeting you with a smile, to the line cooks who serve hundreds a day, to the porters who make sure it's clean and safe when we all leave. They are taking a risk by staying with us through our closure, and may face an uncertain future trying to find new jobs. 

If you feel inclined and are able to, feel free to donate to this fund for a "closing staff bonus." Funds will be distributed among all staff still working at Cecily (many of whom have been here since the very first day). Unlike gratuity, this fund will be shared with those who work in the kitchen and in non-guest facing rolls as well, but be assured that ownership is strictly excluded. It's a small way we can offer to say 'thank you' to the unsung heroes that made this place what it is for 2 years.
