OUR MISSION: The Hive DGO strives to support journeys in self discovery by providing a brave and inclusive space for under-resourced and underrepresented youth. We hope to empower those that dare to be different by facilitating creative expression and guidance in shaping future community leaders.

This upcoming summer, The Hive is gearing up for an exciting array of activities. Building on the success of our previous summers, we're thrilled to announce the return of our popular Wild Hive day camp, now in its third year. With capacity for up to 50 youth participants, this immersive program will delve into Durango's natural surroundings through a mix of adventurous activities, intertwined with survival skills training and social-emotional learning curricula. The Hive also offers free transportation to and from programming to remove barriers for working and rural families.

NEW THIS SEASON** The Hive will be offering an al la carte approach to our programming this summer, which is a new approach to offering our services on a daily, weekly, monthly or full 8-week basis. We will be offering the same weekly schedule including CRE8 A SK8 - build your own skateboard, art class, gardening, Build A Rock Band, Wild Hive, and Fabric Fridays every week. Families will be able to sign up for a full week, multiple weeks or just one day of programming to better work with their busy summer schedules.

To commemorate the end of our summer camp, we're joining forces with Deer Hill Expeditions for an invigorating 4-day river excursion in August. Deer Hill is dedicated to empowering individuals to forge genuine connections with themselves and their communities through wilderness and service experiences. The Hive looks forward to partnering with this program to close out our season with an outdoor adventure with powerful intention. (We are aiming to raise scholarship money for our youth participants to partake in this experience)

In addition to the Wild Hive day camp, The Hive will continue to serve as a dynamic youth center. Our doors will be open for drop-ins, offering access to our indoor skatepark—a haven for skaters of all skill levels. Beyond skateboarding, The Hive provides a welcoming environment for youths to explore their creative passions, whether through art, music, or any other interests they may bring to the table.
