Join us at Erie Community Park on July 21st for our 1st annual adapted triathlon event! This event will be focused on fun, inclusion, and community. Front Range Adapted Triathlon was created to empower children with intellectual and physical disabilities through the transformative experience of sport. We aspire to create lasting relationships and develop a vibrant community where children of all abilities are welcomed and celebrated, fostering confidence, camaraderie, and personal growth.

Participation is free! We rely on donations from individuals and businesses in the community to make this event possible and as accessible as possible. If you feel inclined to donate - please do! All donations go towards cost of this event and future adapted triathlons in the area. Front Range Adapted Triathlon is a 501c3 non-profit and all donations are tax-deductible.
This event starts at 9:00 AM. Check in at Garfield Shelter at Erie Community Park from 8:30 - 8:45 AM. If you are going to be borrowing an adapted bike from us (option provided in registration), please arrive by 8:30 AM to allow time to fit your child with the bike. Otherwise, please arrive by 8:45 AM! This will allow time to set up transition area and make your way to the pool for the start of the race.
The adapted triathlon will consist of swim, bike, and run/walk/roll/push portions. Your child can participate in all 3 portions, or just 1 or 2 portions if you prefer. Any type of adapted equipment that your child needs is welcome!
Each child will be paired with a volunteer who will provide support throughout the race, cheer them on, and assist as needed. Parents, you are allowed to provide any type of support for your child throughout the race! If you would prefer to be the volunteer/sole support for your child, or you have someone that you would like to be paired with your child for the race (family friend, therapist, etc.) and do not want a paired volunteer, please indicate this on the registration form.
There are 2 distance options to choose from. The swim will take place in Erie Community Center Pool. Lifeguards will be present and volunteers will be in the water to provide as much assistance as needed for each child. The pool has a zero entry or chair lift if needed, and life jackets will be available.
- Distance 1:
  - 50-yard swim (1 lap)
  - 0.5 mile bike (2 laps Erie Park)
  - 0.25 mile run/walk/roll push
- Distance 2:
  - 100-yard swim (2 laps)
  - 1 mile bike (4 laps Erie Park)
  - 0.5 mile run/walk/roll push

All ages welcome, but recommended age is elementary to middle school aged children. This is because we may not have equipment sized for younger or older kids but we are happy to work with families to accommodate any participants outside of this age range so they can participate!
Stay for a post-race party at Garfield Shelter, where there will be food and drinks for all participants and their families to enjoy! Each participant will also receive a t-shirt. T-shirts will be available for purchase for any friends, families, and supporters of the event.

Registration closes Sunday, July 7th or once max capacity is reached.

This event is about inclusivity, fun, and community, rather than being a highly competitive event. We encourage all friends, families, and supporters to cheer on every athlete to make this a fun-filled day for all!
