Participants: Please bring a phone, tablet and/or laptop to use during this Workshop!
Thank you to Sandbox Leadership for donating 100% of proceeds for this event to Leadership Kitsap!
What does the future of Kitsap County and your organization look like?
As a leader, what’s possible if you thought more like a Futurist? In this workshop, we will explore future-thinking skills and how you can leverage them to lead into uncertain futures with more confidence. Drawing from skills and a model developed by the Institute for the Future, you will learn future-back thinking skills that help you notice signals of possible futures to come, identify drivers of change, and develop strengths such as creativity, practical skepticism and hope by building future forecasting skills.
You will:
1. Explore the IFTF Future Forecasting Cycle
2. Gather evidence to frame your futures questions
3. Develop plausible, compelling and provocative narratives of multiple futures
4. Create new ideas and meaningful implications for your organizations, teams, family and Kitsap County.
Meet the faciliatators:
Doug Nathan, PCC
"I bring a strengths-based, whole-systems approach to my coaching and consulting. I don’t just focus just on the individual—we look at connections between people, systems and structures within an organization to understand why people do what they do. I partner with you using evidence-based practices to inspire creative, systemic approaches that enhance individual performance, team dynamics and inclusive workplace culture."
Greg Abell
"My commitment to the work of Sandbox Leadership, LLC is found in the relationship between leadership, change and conflict. Over the years I have learned from leaders that one of their biggest challenges is leading change and navigating the inevitable conflict that accompanies it. Leaders often initiate change in the pursuit of ongoing improvement. Change, for many is perceived as a threat, resulting in resistance and conflict. Effective leadership is essential to a community or organizations ability to successfully navigate this experience."
