2024-2025 Annual Appeal

We begin our Annual Appeal for FY2025 right before #GivingTuesday 2024. Giving Tuesday is a "global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world!"

We hope that the people of our community will use Giving Tuesday as a day to consider giving to Glastonbury ABC not only from a monetary perspective but also from a volunteering perspective. We have a need every year for new Host Families to provide a home away from home for our scholars when they welcome them to their homes each Wednesday for a family dinner and one weekend per month to be part of the family in whatever the family chooses to do that weekend - from sitting around watching tv to raking leaves, shoveling snow to attending a family member's sporting event or other extracurricular activity, playing cards or a board game to going on a hike, or whatever else the family does on a typical weekend.

We also need board members and volunteers to work on the activities of our committees - reviewing policies and procedures, helping to find and organize activities for our students, fundraising and grant writing, providing coverage for the scholars for early dismissals or days off, providing a weekend meal, providing transportation, working with scholars on schoolwork or college applications, providing maintenance for the house or van, creating material for website or social media, creating budgets and financial reports or anything else that is needed by a group of six to eight teenage boys, a 125+ year old house and a non-profit organization! From a monetary perspective, we have a budget of over $100k that is funded completely through donations from community members and businesses along with foundations and grants.
