GAME on GAME Foundation exists to help athletes thrive before, during, and after sports.

We believe sports can be one of the most powerful vehicles for developing young people, but the lessons, relationships, resources, and opportunities surrounding the game matter just as much as what happens on the court or field.

GAME on GAME Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and your tax-deductible donation helps us provide student-athletes with access to scholarships, mentorship, youth sports leagues, camps, workshops, student-athlete development programming, parent education, and community partnerships. GAME on GAME works to make sure young athletes have access to the tools and support they need to succeed in sports, school, and life.

Scholarships Rooted in Real Stories

Three of the scholarships supported through GAME on GAME Foundation honor people whose stories represent the impact that opportunity, mentorship, sacrifice, and belief can have on a young person’s life.

Walter Ray Scholarship — Creating Access

The Walter Ray Scholarship is rooted in the power of access.

Walter Ray played an important role in opening an educational door that ultimately changed the trajectory of GAME on GAME founder Javorn Farrell’s life. As a young student-athlete, Javorn was introduced to the possibility of attending St. Albans School, an opportunity his family may not have otherwise known how to identify or navigate.

That experience became much bigger than simply attending a different school. It created exposure to new environments, new expectations, new relationships, and opportunities that helped shape the person he would become.

The Walter Ray Scholarship exists to help provide that same type of access for another young person.

The scholarship is intended to support student-athletes who demonstrate potential but may lack the financial resources, information, relationships, or guidance necessary to access educational opportunities that could significantly expand their future. Sometimes talent is present long before opportunity is; this scholarship helps close that gap.

Louis Wilson Scholarship — The Power of Showing Up

The Louis Wilson Scholarship honors what it means to truly invest in a young person’s life.

Louis Wilson was far more than a basketball coach to Javorn. During critical years of his development, Louis provided guidance, stability, accountability, mentorship, and a place to call home. During Javorn’s junior and senior years of high school, Louis helped make it possible for him to continue pursuing his education and basketball journey while also modeling what leadership, responsibility, and manhood looked like.

His impact wasn’t limited to basketball. It was in the conversations, discipline, sacrifices, consistency, and perhaps most importantly, the willingness to show up when a young person needed someone in his corner.

The Louis Wilson Scholarship carries that legacy forward by supporting young people who may need more than financial assistance alone. It represents our belief that when young athletes are surrounded by caring adults, strong mentorship, stability, and meaningful resources, their circumstances do not have to determine their future.

We want recipients of this scholarship to know that someone believes in them—and that they do not have to navigate their journey alone.

Tyrique White Scholarship — Helping the Next Young Person Take the Next Step

The Tyrique White Scholarship honors a young man whose life represented growth, perseverance, and unrealized possibility.

Tyrique faced challenges during his youth but began turning his life in a positive direction, with sports playing an important role in helping him find structure and purpose. He earned an opportunity to attend Lincoln University, an HBCU, and was preparing to take the next step in his life after high school.

Tragically, Tyrique was killed just one week before graduating. He never had the opportunity to walk onto Lincoln’s campus and begin the next chapter he had worked toward. The Tyrique White Scholarship was created so another young person can.

The scholarship is designed to support a graduating student-athlete who has demonstrated meaningful personal growth, perseverance, and a commitment to creating a better future but does not have an athletic scholarship covering the cost of college.

Preference will be given to students pursuing an education at an HBCU.

Support may help cover expenses such as tuition, books, fees, housing, transportation, technology, or other costs that can become barriers between earning an opportunity and actually being able to take advantage of it.

Tyrique’s story should not end with what he was unable to experience. Through this scholarship, another young person can take the next step.

Beyond Scholarships

Scholarships are one part of the work.

GAME on GAME is building an ecosystem of programming designed to support the whole athlete, not simply their athletic performance.

GAME League

GAME League uses youth sports as a platform for development.

Our vision is to create accessible leagues that combine high-quality sports experiences with mentorship, life-skills education, workshops, positive coaching, community engagement, and opportunities for young athletes to grow beyond the game.

For families in underserved communities, the costs associated with organized sports can become a significant barrier. Donations help us reduce those barriers by supporting registration scholarships, facilities, equipment, officials, coaches, programming, and other league expenses.

We want more young people to have access to organized sports without finances determining whether they can participate.

GAME Camps

GAME Camps give young athletes an opportunity to develop their athletic skills while also being introduced to the principles at the heart of GAME on GAME.

Our camps are designed to go beyond drills and competition. Athletes may participate in conversations and activities around confidence, leadership, identity, decision-making, resilience, communication, teamwork, academics, and preparing for life beyond sports.

Support from donors allows us to bring these experiences into underserved communities and provide free or reduced-cost participation when possible.

Student-Athlete Development Workshops

Our student-athlete development workshops address the conversations young athletes are not always having in practice.

Topics may include identity beyond sports, handling pressure and stress, leadership, relationships, social media, financial literacy, college athletics, NIL, career exploration, mental performance, decision-making, adversity, and preparing for the day organized sports eventually end.

GAME on GAME works with schools, teams, community organizations, and youth programs to create engaging, age-appropriate experiences that meet young athletes where they are.

Whenever possible, we want finances to never be the reason a school or community cannot provide these resources to its athletes.

Whole Athlete Development (After School Program)

Young people spend enough time being told how to become better athletes.

Whole Athlete Development focuses on helping them become stronger people.

Through interactive and gamified programming, guest speakers, mentorship, experiences outside the traditional classroom, sports development, and life-skills education, participants are encouraged to develop curiosity about who they are and who they want to become.

The goal isn’t to add another class after a long school day.

It’s to create an environment young athletes want to be part of; one where they can talk honestly, compete, learn, move, build relationships, ask questions, and develop skills that matter beyond sports.

Giving GAME (Mentorship)

A single mentor can change the direction of a young person’s life.

Giving GAME connects young athletes with people who can provide perspective, encouragement, accountability, guidance, and consistent support. Mentorship gives athletes a place to ask questions they may not feel comfortable asking a coach, teacher, or parent. It also reminds them that their value isn’t tied to points scored, rankings, recruiting attention, playing time, or athletic achievement.

We want young people to have trusted people in their corner as they navigate sports, education, relationships, identity, college decisions, careers, and adulthood.

Parent & Family Education

Supporting the athlete also means supporting the people raising them.

GAME on GAME provides programming and conversations for parents and families around topics such as pressure versus stress, youth sports culture, recruiting, college options, communication, identity, expectations, and helping young athletes navigate success and disappointment.

Parents don’t receive a handbook when their child becomes a talented athlete. We want to help families navigate that journey together.
