I am Louis Dorsey — educator, husband, father, counselor, mentor, and founder of Sunnyside Community School, a visionary high school built by and for our community.

Sunnyside Community School will launch in Fall 2027 with an innovative curriculum rooted in:

✅ Black culture and history
✅ Real-world life skills

We’re reimagining education for Black students in Houston — affirming their identity, nurturing purpose, and preparing them to lead and serve with excellence.

Why I Need Your Support

To bring this vision to life, I’m stepping away from my full-time job in 2026 to focus entirely on launching the school through community engagement, fundraising, hiring, curriculum design, land/building acquisition, and facility development.

To make this vision a reality, I need to raise $1 million to lay a strong foundation covering start-up operations and hiring exceptional teachers and administrators.
