In recognition of this 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a Jubilee Year of Saint Francis, inviting the faithful to reflect on peace, humility, and the transitus of the saint.

Help us bring Saint Francis and Saint Clare to San Francisco during the Jubilee Year.

San Francisco, founded as Mission San Francisco de Assísi, bears his name and his spiritual legacy. Beyond its name, the city holds a distinction found nowhere else outside of Italy: it is home to La Porziuncola Nuova, a faithful creation of the beloved chapel in Assisi where Saint Francis founded the Franciscan Order and where Saint Clare first embraced her vocation

For this reason, The Archconfraternity of The Knights of Saint Francis will host a rare public relics exhibition of Saint Francis of Assisi in the United States. This will be an encounter of reverence, beauty, and peace.

At the heart of this celebration will be a sacred relics and devotional works exhibition associated with Saint Francis and Saint Clare of Assisi. These relics are not simply historical objects. They are tangible connections to lives lived wholly in imitation of Christ; preserved, protected, and presented for prayerful veneration.

About The Archconfraternity of the Knights of Saint Francis

The Knights of Saint Francis is an international archconfraternity dedicated to living the Franciscan spirit of humility, peace, and joyful service in the city of Saint Francis.

The Knights serve as guardians of La Porziuncola Nuova, declared a Holy Place by Papal Decree of Pope Benedict XVI in 2008. Inspired by Saint Francis’ prayer, “I want everyone in paradise,” the Knights serve through prayer, outreach to the poor, preservation of sacred Franciscan sites, and the welcoming of pilgrims from around the world.

Founded by Angela M. Alioto, International Director, the Knights continue to be guided by her vision of faith, humility, and service in the United States, Italy, and Honduras.
