At Grateful Hearts Givings NJ Nonprofit, giving food begins long before the day it reaches someone’s table.

It begins with a seed.

We plant it. We water it. We protect it from pests, weather, and hungry garden visitors. We tend it through hot summer mornings and chilly growing days. And when the harvest is ready, we rise early, pick it fresh, pack it, and personally place that food into the hands of the people we serve.

There is no middleman between our garden and our neighbors.

The vegetables we grow are not harvested and sent somewhere else for someone else to distribute. We give them directly to seniors, families, and neighbors in need. We see the harvest leave our hands and go into theirs, because we believe the purpose of growing food for our community is to help feed our community.

Every tomato, pepper, cucumber, bunch of greens, and basket of fresh produce represents months of work, care, and commitment. And we believe that work is worth it when fresh, nourishing food reaches a table where it is truly needed.
