Support Malcolm X College Students through the first End-of-Year Scholarship drive. 100% of donations support student scholarships and basic needs. 

WHY DONATE?

• 16,000 City Colleges of Chicago students do not have access to financial aid.
• 50% of students are parents with families to support and must meet additional expenses such as utilities, transportation, child care, and insurances while working tirelessly to advance their careers.
• 45% of students are food insecure, having to skip meals daily. COVID-19 made this issue more extreme.
• 28% of students are not able to meet their full rent or mortgage, as pandemic-related unemployment rises.

VISION

Malcolm X College serves with urgency as a catalyst for social change and economic growth in the Chicago community. We have the power to make change. In order to do that, we will provide an affordable, accessible, and exceptional education. We will drive dynamic economic mobility in the lives of our students.

MEET OUR STUDENTS

Kimberly is a returning student under the Fresh Start scholarship program, which offers students a second chance at education. She is determined and focused on a pathway in Child Development. She was born and raised in the West Side of Chicago. Upon graduating, she strives to contribute her education and skills to families in her community. Kimberly hopes to work with under-served children to provide a safe and positive upbringing. Her passion for a career in serving others stems from her experience and sacrifice supporting her differently-abled brother. Currently working as a Teacher’s Assistant, she plans to be an Early Childhood educator running her own classroom. Kimberly is a servant leader and constantly inspires those around her as an active member of Malcolm X College's First-Year Experience program.
