Yom Kippur - What to Wear & Bring

It is traditional to wear all white on Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur and we invite you to join us in that tradition.
Please bring a picture of yourself from your childhood on Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur.
Please bring a vegetarian dish to share if you are participating in Yom Kippur Break Fast.

Parking Information for In-Person Location

Street parking at First Unitarian Church of Oakland is limited. We recommend using public transportation, ride shares, and car pools. If driving, we recommend not leaving anything in your car.

DISCOUNTED GARAGE PARKING:

Ace Parking City Center Garage has graciously provided us with discounted $10 parking tickets for a limited number of guests. After parking at Ace Parking City Center Garage, show your parking ticket when you check in at High Holidays, and we will validate your ticket for discounted parking if passes are still available (first-come, first-served). The garage is a 5 minute walk from the church. You can only use the pass one time.

STREET PARKING:

On 14th street, you may be able to find street parking. We recommend looking for parking across the freeway on Brush St, where there may be more availability in the residential neighborhood. There is also free street parking near Marston Campbell Park, on 16th St. and West St. Marston Campbell Park is about a 6 minute walk away from the church.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

The church is located a 7 minute walk away from 12th St/Oakland BART.

The church is located 1-2 blocks from many AC transit bus lines including 14, 88, 30, and 22. We recommend using google maps to find the most convenient route via public transit.

Masking Optional: There will be a masking-only section and an outdoor eating space.
Ventilation/Air filters: There will be an air filter and ventilation
Scents: Please arrive scent-free or low scent
Wheelchair accessibility: Fully wheelchair accessible
Seating: Chairs with backs
Food: Please bring a vegetarian dish to share if you are participating in Yom Kippur Break Fast.
