Whoever and wherever you are, you can change someone else’s day, sometimes their future. A smile given. A meal shared. A hand extended. Hope becomes more than a feeling in moments like these, when care turns into action.

For many Filipino-Americans, the Philippines is not just a place on a map. It is family, memory, and identity Even while living in the United States, there is a way to remain connected and bring hope back home.

This is where GK USA comes in, serving as the mission partner of the leading community development non-profit organization in the Philippines , Gawad Kalinga. We create the bridge between Filipino Americans and communities in the Philippines, turning concern into concrete support that reaches families where it is needed most. From building and restoring homes for the homeless, strengthening youth education, improving access to health, responding during disasters, and supporting livelihood opportunities for farming families, these are all what we have been working on to respond to real needs and help restore stability in daily life.

Since 2009, GK USA has worked alongside volunteers, and partners through long-term engagement rooted in "Bayanihan", the Filipino value of shared care and responsibility. It is this community spirit that turns awareness into action, and action into meaningful change for families who are working to rebuild their lives.

Across more than 3,000 GK communities in the Philippines, this work continues to take shape in tangible ways. In 2025 alone, we have helped build over 111 homes for homeless families. After disasters affected communities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, 18,536 individuals received emergency support through 4,634 relief packs.

In classrooms and farms, the impact continues to grow. Over 850 children strengthened their reading skills in 34 poor communities, while 95 scholars continued their education to become future agri-leaders. In North Cotabato, 401 farmers cultivated 191 hectares of adlai (an ancient grain also known as Job’s tears in the US) , generating ₱12.6 million in sales and helping families increase their income. Community Food Farm programs also expanded across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, with cluster farms in La Union, Nueva Ecija, and Iloilo supporting food access and local livelihoods.

Each home rebuilt, each child learning to read, each farmer able to grow more from their land points back to the same truth. Hope is not distant. It is present in choices made for others, carried forward through communities that continue to rise together.
