This year you can support financial empowerment with a donation to the GLCU Foundation for Financial Empowerment. By donating to the GLCU Foundation you’ll directly help us provide valuable resources, education, and tools for individuals striving to secure their financial future.

Did you know that the state of Illinois leads the nation in foreclosure filings? Our team of dedicated HUD-certified counselors is available free of charge to members and non-member to assist with issues such as foreclosure and many other topics.

In 2024, the GLCU Foundation has had the following impact:

3,113 community outreach hours
34 financial education workshops
522 households received consumer education
947 households benefitted from housing and financial education and counseling services

Every dollar makes an impact:

$25 = One household consumer credit report analyzed by a HUD-certified counselor
$50 = Group education session for one community partner on topics such as renters’ rights or dealing with debt
$100 = Application assistance for emergency programs such as Court-Based Rental Assistance
$150 = Time needed to help a consumer apply for mortgage assistance
$250 = Supports one-on-one pre-purchase homeownership counseling for one household
$500 = Supports a first-time homebuyer seminar for 10 attendees
