Heyyyy y’all,
If you don’t know me yet, my name is Anthem Bloyer, and I’m super blessed to be a freshman at the Institute for G.O.D. This summer, I have an incredible opportunity to go on a mission trip to Uganda, Kenya, and El Salvador, and I’d love to share a little bit about it.
If you do know me already, then you also know how strong my heart is for missions. God has been leading me in this direction for years through miracle after miracle. Growing up in a big family (5 siblings!) with no phones or devices, I fell in love with books. I spent hours reading missionary stories about Nate Saint, Amy Carmichael, Corrie Ten Boom, and so many others. Through reading the stories of their dedication to the Gospel, God placed a fire in my heart to serve and ultimately dedicate my life to the mission field. Because of all that, this opportunity is so close to my heart and I am praying that it will transform me in such a big way.
As I prepare, I’m asking for your support in three ways. First, please pray for me—specifically for safety, a soft heart, and the ability to serve, encourage, and learn well. Second, I’m working toward raising $8,000. I’ve been able to save $1,500 so far on my own and I am working towards saving another $1,500 by the time this semester has ended. But I am trusting God for the rest, so if He lays it on your heart to give, thank you so much! Lastly, I’d love your encouragement—a text, a call, a Bible verse, or even a letter just letting me know that you are praying with me would mean the world to me.
I am beyond excited to be embarking on this journey and I cannot wait to come home completely changed and with so many wonderful testimonies of all the Lord is going to do through me and for me on this internship. My personal prayer this semester leading into the summer months comes from my life verse in Psalm 139:23-24 which reads, “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me and lead me in the way everlasting!” Thank you all for taking the time to read this and join me in prayer and support.
With all my gratitude,
Anthem Joy Bloyer
