Black August is a time to honor Black resistance, commemorate fallen freedom fighters, and stand against the systems of mass incarceration and deportation that continue to target Black and Brown communities.

At Grassroots Leadership, we believe those closest to the harm are closest to the solutions. From organizing against prison profiteering to fighting for Care, Not Cages, our work empowers directly impacted families to transform the criminal legal and immigration systems from the ground up.

This month, every gift goes further. Givebutter is adding a 5% match to all donations made through our campaign this August.

Your contribution directly powers:

Grassroots Organizing: Building power led by directly impacted community members.
Participatory Defense: Equipping families with tools to defend loved ones in court.
Community Advocacy: Demanding real investments in public safety—housing, care, and human dignity—not cages.

Stand with us in resistance, liberation, and care—donate today to boost your impact by 5%.
