Ghana School Project 2024

Help Repaint a School, Provide Scholarships, and Inspire Learning & Growth

The Ghana School Project is a multi-faceted initiative aimed at revitalizing a school in Ghana that has been a cornerstone of its community for over three decades. Built by Mr. & Mrs. Akoto over 3o years ago, the school is more than just a place for education—it is a sanctuary of hope and opportunity. Known affectionately as “grandpa and grandma,” Mr. & Mrs. Akoto have dedicated part of their life to creating a nurturing, family-like environment where students can thrive, even in the face of adversity.

Recently, the school faced a setback when someone broke in and stole 12 computers essential for the student’s education and connectivity to the world beyond their borders. While this was disheartening, it has strengthened their resolve to continue building a vibrant space for learning and growth that inspires hope and opportunity for every child. Now, we want to help the school community in some exciting ways.

Our goal is to raise at least 30,000 GHC ($2,000) to:

• Repaint the school with long-lasting, high-quality paint to brighten and uplift the learning environment.

• Provide full-year scholarships to ensure students can continue their education.

• Host a Day of Service at the school

The Day of Service, scheduled for December 19th, 2024, is a pivotal moment in this project. The event will bring together community members, local organizations, and supporters to celebrate and uplift the school through activities that promote health, creativity, fitness, and cultural pride.

This project is just the beginning. Peace First will continue partnering with this school as part of a new Changemaking Communities program, which will officially launch in 2025.

By contributing to this campaign, you’ll be part of this impactful journey, helping to preserve and elevate a school that has shaped countless lives.

Donate today to help us reach this goal and create a brighter future for these students!

For the privacy and protection of the students and their community, we have chosen not to share the school’s name or exact location on this page.
