Let’s Fly Geese!

As two-time reigning NJ State Ultimate Champions, the Montclair Geese are excited to see what this team — and the community we are building together — can accomplish next. We work as hard on the field to improve the excellence of our play as we do in lifting up “the spirit of the game.” Mutual respect, community, inclusiveness, and fair play. These things matter to The Geese. As we prepare to improve this fall and defend our title in the spring, we look to you, our supporters, to help make the difference.

Our History

The team started back in 2017 with only a few players who tossed the disc around every once in a while. We began competing in 2019. Then, in 2020 we lost our seniors who made up a majority of the team and we were left with only 10 players. We were a small program, few knew about us, and there weren’t even enough players to field a game. But look at us now! We’ve got two teams (Varsity and Junior Varsity), a growing middle school team, and are now an Official 501C3 Nonprofit organization! We won our first Big tournament in 2022 at Born To Dive, and have continued our winning streak by winning Halloween Havoc, Spring Fling, and PVI. Two years ago we won the NJ State Tournament - the first team other than Columbia or Westfield to have done so in 20 years! Then we doubled-down on the accomplishment in 2024 winning again. 

Why We Need Your Support

Our team strongly believes in giving everybody a chance to play Ultimate. We go as a team to many out-of-state and overnight tournaments. That costs money. We also have other costs associated with equipment, such as jerseys and discs, along with paying our coach, and securing field permits. We work with our generous sponsors to help pay for many of these things, but it would be great if you could help us support our players and give as you can. Your money will be well spent growing this great community and helping to give everybody a chance to experience the thrilling sport of Ultimate!

• Like geese, we fly together to soar farther than any of us could alone.
• Like geese, we take turns being at the front of the formation. It's up to us all to lead the way and do what needs to be done.
• Like geese, we adjust the flock when one of us falls out of formation.
• Like geese, those of us at the back of the V honk and encourage those in the front
