Suicide Rates Continue to Climb!

According to the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), suicide rates of US Military Veterans are significantly higher than rates of non-veterans. Overall, the rates continue to climb. Additional research from America's Warrior Partnership, US Department of Defense, and the University of Alabama indicate that new findings show that Veteran suicide is much higher than reported by the VA.

Suicide Prevention is a VFW Legislative Priority Goal

Understanding and reducing suicide within the Veterans community is a TOP PRIORITY of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The VFW is working hard on Capitol Hill through legislative advocacy and collaborating with resource providers to better understand and reduce the increased rate of military Veteran suicide. Statistics show that suicide continues to devastate our veteran and veteran family communities at an exponentially higher rate than those who have never worn the nation's uniform.
