Environmental and outdoor learning is critical for our future

Support environmental and outdoor learning by joining our Spring Drive to Get Outside! The Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (AEOE) 's board and staff work to strengthen environmental education in California by connecting providers, building professional expertise, and championing environmental literacy and outdoor learning. For the month of May we are each committing to a personal challenge designed to help us to deepen our connection to AEOE's mission.

Envision a better future with AEOE

When you think of the future, what do you want to see? Environmental educators across our state are teaching in and beyond classrooms to make California – and our world – a better place. AEOE unites these efforts to help change the world.

We envision a future in which:

Every young person lives in a healthy community with access to meaningful learning experiences outdoors.
Environmental education's substantial societal value is recognized and invested in widely by policymakers, funders, education institutions, and the general public through our messaging and advocacy work.

Will you help us make this vision possible? With your support, AEOE will:

Amp up our messaging and advocacy efforts for the field of environmental education. From legitimizing the work we do to focusing on educator pay and increasing access, AEOE aims to work at a systems level so that environmental education is more accessible, equitable, and inclusive.
Build partnerships to boost capacity. In order to build capacity for the field of environmental education, AEOE recognizes the need to build relationships with individuals, organizations, and agencies with aligned goals.
Become a better resource for all of our state’s environmental educators. We will continue to expand our resources to engage a broad and diverse educator community with high quality resources.
Increase program offerings. We aim to offer a range of networking and learning opportunities for professionals to increase their skills and expand their profesional networks.
