Did you know that 1 in 5 menstruating individuals miss school or work every month because they can’t afford period products? 

This crisis, known as period poverty, affects millions and limits opportunities for those already facing financial hardships.

Today, I am reaching out on behalf of incredible organization - GirlsHelpingGirls.Period. (GHGP). started by Elise, Emma and Quinn Joy.

I am honored to be on their Board of Directors and serve as the Community Outreach Coordinator.

At Girls Helping Girls.Period. we are tackling period poverty head-on.

Since our founding,

• GHGP has donated more than 4.5 MILLION period products to food pantries, shelters and non-profits that are women and children centered.

• GirlsHelpingGirls.Period. has advocated for a law that mandates free period products in public schools.

• GirlsHelpingGirls.Period. educates young girls about their periods: doing so with humor, encouragement and normalizing the words MONTHLY PERIOD.

• GHGP offers Fall and Spring seminars for girls in underserved communities, teaching them fundamental information about their bodies, period management, and safe use of menstrual products. These courses build tremendous self-awareness and confidence for these students.

But our work isn’t done. Every day, more people face the humiliation and setbacks of period poverty.
