The Bellingham Queer Collective (BQC) was formed in 2022 in response to the challenges of social isolation and difficulty in connecting with others in person as we were moving out of the pandemic.

We provide opportunities for our queer (LGBTQIA2S+) community, 18 years and older, to gather and engage with others in Downtown Bellingham and beyond. Our focus is building up the "Social Health" of our community. Our BQC members now belong to a larger, diverse, intergenerational queer community.

During the past two years, we have learned that there are significant unmet needs of our community outside of social connection including housing and food insecurity, harassment and discrimination, employment challenges, and lack of access to medical treatment. We expanded our social group and became a nonprofit 501(C)3 organization so we can do more.

We are an all volunteer led organization so ALL donations support the new BQC Center and operations.

The BQC is now more than a group; we are also a PLACE.

We are in the process of opening our new BQC community center space in the Q Center; the first LGBTQ+ resource and support center between Seattle and Canada. Having our own safe place where our queer community can gather, socialize, and find support and resources is critical. This queer 3rd space; a place outside of home and work will be transformational for our community.

Every Contribution Counts!

We have over 1600 BQC members in our Facebook Group and more following us on Instagram. If everyone contributes $20 then our rent and operational expenses will be cover for our first year. A recurring gift gives us the confidence we will be able to sustain our Center. All donations are welcomed and appreciated! Larger contributions are welcomed and will help us fix up and equip our Center sooner!

We will add their logos to our newsletter, website and the they will be prominently displayed in our BQC Community Center space.
