SNACC Summer 2021 Interns present the Give Back with SNACC Campaign

Help us raise $500 to support the SNACC programming for the upcoming school year. Each meal costs approximately $5 per student, and $25 covers a meal for one family.

We invite all donors from this campaign to join a virtual cooking class on 7/26 @ 5:30 PM EST with Chef Harold Villarosa to cook and learn more about our efforts! The suggested donation amount to attend the event is $10.

About SNACC:

Sustainable Nutrition And Community Connection (SNACC) is a food education program focusing on food insecurity and community development for students in the South Bronx. The programming is an extension of the nonprofit Faces in Between Inc. and helps youth and families make healthful choices, increase self-efficacy, and explore career paths.

The Bronx borough has the highest food insecurity rate in the country at 37%, with approximately one in five children experiencing food insecurity. Our team believes that food education is a key contributor to positive youth development and helps students build long-term healthy habits. Each week, students cook alongside guest chefs to prepare healthy and affordable meals for their families using ingredients that our team sends directly to their homes.

By providing the tools and resources, SNACC helps children gain new skills and connect with their families through homemade meals.

As things begin to re-open, we are prepared to meet the community's evolving needs by using a hybrid model that allows students to continue cooking in their kitchens while gaining opportunities for in-person programs and educational field trips.
