A note from Joy: "Since opening our doors in 2014, Connect with a Wish has impacted thousands of lives through our continually expanding services. Our 20 programs and services reach youth and young adults however they access the foster care system in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and Suffolk. Additionally, our new Supporting Success umbrella features housing, personal and professional development, parenting, and social support services to positively support individuals as they interact with the foster care system. As we approach the holidays, I'm also inviting you a gift to make a gift to CWW this holiday season and bring hope to youth and young adults in Hampton Roads foster care. Our work spans needs from birth to age 25, and our work helps interrupt the cycle of foster care independence as we develop adult independence for those aging out. We are especially proud of the following accomplishments: --26 individuals (youth and their children) housed through the Foster Youth to Independence Voucher --165 Handle With Care bags, filled with comfort items, were provided for our clients first night in care --172 Birthday Brigade packs were provided to foster parents and kinship caregivers to support childrens' birthdays --425 backpacks went to students from Virginia Beach to Suffolk in our Back to School Drive
