DR Slater Family Ministry

After much prayer and contemplation, Stephanie and I have decided to leave the safety and craziness of the academic university-world and instead dedicate our full-time efforts to running a Christian-based K-12 school in the Dominican Republic.  Children in the Dominican Republic often lack high quality schooling and the gap between the poor and the wealthy is enormous.  We believe that God is directing us to put all of our energy into ministering to the families on the north coast of the DR by providing a high-quality school experience that lifts up children by teaching them to become wise and virtuous leaders who put their faith in Christ.

As you can imagine, this is an enormous change for us and requires generous support from our friends and families.  For one, we need to be remembered in your prayers; prayer is the jet fuel that supports our ministry.  For another, we need financial support for living expenses.  Neither Stephanie and I are yet old enough to collect social security and we need help covering our costs for food, insurance, transportation, utilities, and even international cell phone access.
