Founded in 2019 music educators Emily Kubitskey and Jackie DesRosier, Global Arts’ music program currently serves youth ages 8-13 in the Pico Union area of Los Angeles, CA. The organization and program were initially inspired by El Sistema, a social and musical movement that began in Venezuela over 40 years ago. After teaching for various schools and music programs over the course of a decade, our founders were compelled to start a program that would meld the social and artistic aspects of orchestral music.

Global Arts’ pilot program launched in September 2020 and has served over 120 youth since then. The program now offers 6 different instruments and provides youth with opportunities to learn from professional musicians, attend world-class concerts, gain leadership skills, and build community.
