Strengthen the Global Bhikkhuni Sangha

As we re-establish the Theravada Bhikkhuni Sangha, cultivating international connections among Bhikkhunis, learning and documenting Bhikkhuni Sangha history, and studying and training in the Vinaya (monastic discipline) are all essential to ensure the Sangha is strong. 

There are still relatively few Bhikkhunis in the world, and when they can connect and share training and knowledge, it strengthens support, community, and connection to their ancient Awakened Bhikkhuni foremothers. 

Donations to this fund cover:

• Travel for international monastics to train with or teach at Dhammadharini.

• Support for Dhammadharini monastics to travel nationally & internationally.

• Dhammadharini's Bhikkhuni Vinaya studies: Learning how to live, as the Buddha taught, faithfully in the modern world.

• Dhammadharini's Bhikkhuni history/herstory initiative: Remembering the beautiful and inspiring actions of those who have gone before us inspires us in our own practice and training.

• Dhammadharini's Dhamma publications.

All of these activities strengthen and develop the Global Bhikkhuni Sangha, and help us to establish a strong foundation for Women’s Awakening around the world.

• Visiting Bhikkhunis for 2025 Vassa
