Emily Craven runs the 2026 Boston Marathon for Fig City News!

Emily Craven is again running the Boston Marathon to support Fig City News -- a trusted source of local news for Newton, Massachusetts -- and the Fig City News summer intern program, now in its fourth year.

Fig City News summer interns get real field experience and an opportunity to make a positive impact in the Newton community. Here's what our interns accomplished in 2025 and 2024.

Fig City News is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation run by volunteers. Donations are tax-deductible. We welcome donations, subject to our policies, to cover out-of-pocket expenses and to support expanding readership and hiring part-time reporters.

Our annual Boston Marathon campaign enables us to hire summer interns who do amazing work. We are thrilled that Emily Craven will run Boston again for this cause. Please join in! Thank you!
