Friends, Food, Conversation - and GOATS!

We knew we wanted to host a party for friends and family this fall; not a birthday party or a friendsgiving (though those are both awesome), but a get together to kick off cozy season. We also we knew we wanted to hire goats to clear brush in our backyard. When a genius friend suggested combining the two...

Goat Party was born!

November 15th, at 1PM, join us at Chez Beauregard for an afternoon of potluck style snacking and chatting around the fire pits, while we watch goats graze and play.

It was another friend who suggested selling tickets, and that got us thinking. We didn't want to sell tickets--this is a party for our friends, not an event for the public--but wow, we have some very cool, social-minded and generous friends and family.... Maybe they wouldn't mind donating to CSC, instead.

At CLOVES Syndrome Community, we're expecting 2026 to be a year of unparalleled need in our community--diminished SNAP and Medicaid benefits will impact the CLOVES (and whole rare disease) community deeply.

At the same time, we expect unprecedented headwinds in fundraising. The very reason people need support more than ever, is a key contributor to why we are already see diminished contributions from our base of loyal donors overall.

We get it, this is a very scary time to live in the United States. We all feel the effects of our paychecks having less buying power than they did before, and we all feel the dread of not knowing what is coming next and who it will hurt. Josh and I are committed to helping our local community as much as we can by building opportunities for joy (like Goat Party!), buying responsibly whenever we can, and donating to local charities like the NE Tacoma Healthy Kids Coalition.

And/also, as the Executive Director of CLOVES Syndrome Community, I have a responsibility to support a broader community—those like Kiki, and families like ours, affected by CLOVES Syndrome, who look to CSC as a beacon of truth, hope, and support in uncertain times.

Which is why we hope you will make a donation today to CLOVES Syndrome Community. No pressure, no requirement to do so. We won't ask you if you did. If all you can give is your presence at our party, and/or a dish for the potluck, we are so grateful! We are happy to have you no matter what. And if you can give a little financially, we would be grateful for that, too.

Your donation will fund initiatives like our Family Assistance Program that helps cover the cost of CLOVES-related care like custom shoes (which typically cost about $2000 per pair), adaptive equipment, travel to see specialists, medical bills, and more, for families in need. We expect more applications to this program than ever before in 2026 and beyond. Your donation will make it possible for us to meet that need.
