Join Grit Glam and Guts as we celebrate 11 years of working to empower girls in Lansing and throughout the state at our inaugural fundraiser: Celebrating the Brilliance of Black Girlhood.

Hosted by WILX's Rachelle Legrand, this brunch promises to be a day of inspiration, joy, and power! You'll hear about our impact through the empowering stories of past and present Grit Glam Guts ambassadors. The inaugural chairperson of the African and African American Studies Department at Michigan State University, Dr. Ruth Nicole Brown, will transform the space as our keynote speaker on the topic, "The Every Day Genius of Black Girlhood."

Since 2013, Grit Glam and Guts (GGG) has created a transformative movement of empowering girls and young women in Lansing and across the state, and after having conversations with community leaders, parents, students, and school administrators - it's overdue for the movement to further expand . We are calling on all of our past participants, supporters, partners, and community to help us grow! by being a part of our inaugural fundraiser! This year, our fundraising efforts will focus on expanding our student-led chapters in three Lansing neighborhoods.

Grit Glam and Guts (GGG) began in 2013 with its first teen conference with over 150 hundred girls and has now expanded into a movement that touches the lives of thousands of girls and women in Mid-Michigan and throughout the state. To date, GGG is one the most consistent non-profits that focuses on the holistic development of girls that addresses not only academic or skill-based learning but also the emotional, social, and personal growth aspects – like identity, self-awareness, and advocacy – all while centering the experiences of Black Girls.

While there are nearly 27,530 teen girls in Ingham County alone, there are less than five known organizations that provide consistent programming that focus on the holistic girl while centering the Black expereince. The need for the work of Grit Glam & Guts in our community is great.
