Come learn to make beautiful beads out of paper! This is a decently quick and easy project that yields beautiful results that no one will believe you when you tell them they're made of paper!

COVID Policy

This event is indoors. All attendees must wear a well-fitted respirator-type mask (kn94/n95 or equivalent). If an attendee needs to remove the mask for any reason (ex. taking a drink), we ask that they step away from the room where the other attendees are located. As always, if you do not feel well please stay home. The Community Room has a maximum capacity of 50 people and we will cap this event at 23.

Accessibility Info

This event will be taking place at the Cambridge Main Library: 449 Broadway Cambridge, MA 02138. We will be in the Community Room which is located on L2 (downstairs from the main level) and is accessible by elevators. All-gender restrooms are available in Administration on the 2nd floor and The Hive on the first floor during open hours. Folding chairs will be provided. Queer Scouts is a substance-free group. Please do not drink alcohol, smoke, or otherwise partake during this event.

Transit and Parking Information: The Main Library is accessible by both bus and subway. There is also a Bluebike station located directly in front of the library. A 70-car underground parking garage with access from Broadway is available when the library is open. It costs 25 cents for every 12 minutes of parking. You may pay by using quarters or credit card (Mastercard or Visa).

• Drugs and Alcohol: Queer events are often fueled by alcohol and the commodification of sex. We strive to create an environment that focuses on connection. We ask that alcohol and drug use are not used during camp trips (and events) and strive to create a space that is free from the “hook up” culture that can be intimidating and exclusive.

• Participants Create: Queer Scouts is an experimentation built by participants. Workshops, meals, clean up, set up, etc, is all built on participants signing up to help and create it!

• Growth: With integrity and compassion, we will stretch together to develop a culture that cares for all of us!
