Our 2025 in Review! Here's all we've accomplished together:

Where to begin?

2025 has been such an exciting year for us at Unbound Visual Arts. We started off our Winter programming with A Realm for Reflection, a solo exhibition by Sebastian Gonzalez that brought various ecological crises to the fore while calling attention to environmental changes affecting Boston's landscape. In the Spring, we delved further into plant-life, living matter, and notions of repair through rooted in ruins, our inaugural fully-funded residency with Caroline Sirois and nine other guest artists. The residency was complete with workshops, community activations, and a culminating exhibition.

We began our summer with a show by Brighton High School students, offering young artists a platform to showcase their independent Investigations pursued over the course of the school year. Following this, Indigo Conat-Naar and Ezri Horne's knockin' on your screen door utilized sculpture as a medium of/for remembrance -- demonstrating how objects and materials function as entry points to notions of place and forms of care.

We concluded the Fall and Winter squarely within the political with two final exhibitions. The Quiet Struggle: Emotions in the Shadow of Politics presented photographic works by Kat Almonte, Natasha Jimenez, Mahli Rivera, and Reneiry Santiago depicting various interpretations of affect and interiority under conditions of structural constraint. The Lost Paintings: A Prelude to Return curated by Rula Khoury, Haidi Motola, and Joëlle Tomb finished our year on a resounding note as it featured 53 artists from Palestine and the diaspora. The artists reimagined and took inspiration from a historic exhibition by Palestinian-Lebanese artist Maroun Tomb which took place in Haifa in 1947. The exhibition was produced by us, the Brookline Arts Center, and the Boston Palestine Film Festival.

And if you can believe it, we had events all throughout the year -- working with non-profits and collectives like Exposed Brick Literary Magazine and Urbano -- and we put on performances for musicians such as Dani J. Elizalde, Moon Unit, Leo Martinez, SUTUR, Cryptwarbler, Isabella Febbroriello, and so many more...

At the end of it all, we welcomed 1660 visitors to our space in Brighton and whether you were a new face or a familiar one, a fellow creator and maker, a friend or a new friend of a friend, we want to thank you! Our work continues to be worthwhile only because you support it!
