Creation Class: Beginner Oils: Saturation of Color
Friday, April 26th, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM EDT
In Person
Saturation defines the brilliance and intensity of a color. As things move closer to us, our eyes begin to see more color in the objects. The Blue Ridge Mountain range is a perfect example of this. Students will learn how to see changes in saturated colors and mix them in "strings" on the palette. A color string is a group of premixed piles of paints with different tonal values. We will also review value relationships, mixing and application of oil paints, brush stroke techniques, and materials, and I will answer questions. Students will leave with a complete or almost complete 8x10 oil painting of the Blue Ridge Mountains and more confidence in painting with oils Friday, April 26 from 9 am - 1 pm at Folkmoot. Room A-11. 112 Virginia Ave. Building B, Waynesville, NC 28786
