Financial Literacy is a raging issue in our society, with almost half of the US not knowing how to manage their money. However the problem gets even more pressing, due to the lack of economics teaching. Solutions to financial literacy, have only been met with personal finance classes. States have begun implementing personal finance class, but the problem with financial knowledge will remain because teaching economics is left out of the equation.

Economics as a subject goes beyond simply teaching budgeting, but gives people the knowledge both about the world, but also to understand how those events affect their financial lives. Right now the focus is teaching out of context budgeting strategies, instead of teaching a worldview to create aware and financially sound citizens, through teaching economics.

That is why The Economic Literacy Initiative was founded, to teach vital knowledge about economics.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote economic literacy and empower all individuals to make informed financial decisions. We're committed to providing accessible economic education regardless of background. Through programs and resources, we aim to equip people of all ages with the tools to understand economics and personal finance to shape a prosperous and equal future.

Since our founding in July of 2023 we have launched several programs:

Newsletter - summarizing and analyzes weekly economic news to our over 100+ global subscribers
Courses - we are developing a flagship course that will give consumers what they need to know about economics, without the complex jargon and barriers.
Club Chapters - we have 3 global club chapters supporting their local communities, one in North Carolina, Ghana, and Alabama.
Speakers - We have hosted over 5 speakers, including personal finance experts, financial planners, and more
Summer Internship - with over 100 applicants, we had 30+ summer interns who helped us across every department, from Marketing to Newsletter

But to expand we need your support to cover the costs of our organization. Here are the ways the funds would be used:
