Our HEART for Pugs program is dedicated to spreading awareness, supporting prevention, and ensuring every pug in our care receives the protection they need. Because when it comes to heartworm disease, education and responsible treatment save lives.

Now, we need your help to make an even bigger difference.

Heartworm prevention and treatment aren’t optional—they’re lifesaving. Every pug entering our rescue receives a heartworm test and six months of prevention. Sadly, many arrive already infected, requiring months of painful, expensive treatment and strict crate rest. On top of this, soaring medical costs from emergency surgeries and ongoing care for new intakes are stretching us thin.

The Matching Gift Opportunity

We have incredible news to share: an anonymous donor generously offered to match every donation, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000! And thanks to the amazing response from our community, a second donor stepped up with an additional $2,000 match— bringing the total matching opportunity to $12,000!

Because of your generosity, we met both of these challenges and have raised over $22,000 to help support this program. But our work doesn’t stop here. This is an ongoing fundraising need and every single dollar makes a difference in providing critical care, treatment, and prevention for our pugs.
