Welcome to Voice of Iris!

We are a new Boston-based company seeking to dismantle the gender disparity gap in staged vocal works. We are launching our first season, and we need help to do it! In order for funding from our fiscal sponsor to kick in, we need to meet a small goal of $2000. Even a dollar or two will get us closer to our goal if you can't spare $10 or $20! If you're passionate about equity in the vocal music industry, you're in the right place. Please spread our mission and help us reach our goal! This money will not only help us secure further funds, but it will go directly towards the wonderful musicians in our fall performance. Voice of Iris provides staged performance opportunities for those voices most directly impacted by the gender disparity gap in classical music: women and gender nonconforming treble voices. Through commissioning new repertoire, staging existing treble voice compositions, and gender-bending canonical classical and musical theater works, Voice of Iris empowers artists to explore diversity and intersectionality in music. Voice of Iris uses their stage time and genre-crossing performances to give voice to existing systems of oppression and encourage revolution, presenting their audiences with innovative, unapologetic, and musically excellent experiences.
