Did you know an Emergency Department Technician's salary averages from minimum wage to about $19 dollars an hour?
Emergency department technicians typically work long hours on their feet. They are responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in the emergency department with patient care, which may involve helping to move patients, collecting specimens, performing basic medical procedures, and responding to crises/trauma.
Because the emergency department is open 24/7, technicians may need to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. This can be physically and mentally demanding, requiring the ability to stay alert and focused for long periods of time. It is important for technicians to take care of themselves by wearing comfortable shoes, staying hydrated, and taking breaks as needed to prevent burnout and fatigue.
Here are the numbers:
Average hours worked in a month: 144 hours
Average miles walked in a month: 130 miles
Average life of a shoe: 310-445 miles
Average patients served: 1,500
Average patients lifted: 1,300
The purpose of this campaign is to purchase shoes for healthcare workers at Clove or On Shoes at a discounted price. With the 5,000 we hope to purchase 30-50 pairs of shoes for Emergency Medical Techs in the KC metro area.
Thank you for considering a cash donation for this campaign.
