High Mowing School was founded in 1942 by Beulah Hepburn Emmet, whose vision, determination, and generosity created fertile soil for the ongoing growth of this unique and dynamic school. On our first Founder's Day, we paid tribute to Mrs. Emmet, and on our second, we honored the resiliency of our school. This year we celebrate our teachers (Pine Hill and High Mowing) past and present.

Although we recognize that a day of giving could not fully honor every teacher, we ask you to help us shine light on the backbone of our school - our teachers. Flood this giving page with memories and photos of teachers who helped generations of students grow and flourish. Contribute in honor or memory of teachers. Donations to the Community Fund support teacher salaries, benefits, professional development, and supplies needed for excellent teaching to occur.

From the founding faculty to now, teachers on Abbot Hill have committed themselves to inspiring students with the guidance of Waldorf education principles. Teachers are central to fulfilling the mission statement of our school.

We are within 35 donors of realizing the Dyson Challenge. Once 500 individual donors contribute, $100,000 will be granted to High Mowing. There is an additional incentive that matches up to $10,000, doubling any gift contributed on Founder’s Day.
