Story
The Hope Fund has been helping families since 2012 by providing financial support for sudden expenses that threaten a Washington County family’s ability to care for their children. The Hope Fund Committee, a small group of service providers from family-serving organizations who review applications and make awards, will often work with other programs to combine funds to pay for more complex, expensive needs, such as repairing a boiler for heat and hot water.
Together with our partners, the Hope Fund has changed outcomes for families by awarding 753 applications since its inception, building assets and stability for families, and expanding the resources available to service providers for their clients.
But times have never been tougher for families. At the same time that rent relief and other programs funded with COVID dollars are disappearing, the cost of living -- rent, food, fuel and utilities -- is skyrocketing. Many families are one car repair away from economic disaster.
As we pause in our busy schedules to gather with friends and family this Thanksgiving, let's expand that gratitude and warmth to help another family facing particularly challenging times by making a donation to the Hope Fund. Thank you!
