GYS is a non-profit organization founded by Mitch Borden, the original founder of legendary Jazz clubs Smalls and Fat Cat in NYC, and Rie Yamaguchi-Borden, Jazz musician.

They have recognized the dire needs of Jazz community after Covid-19 outbreak and have decided to remedy their vulnerable situation.

This campaign is for their one-year anniversary and also a celebration for their new chapter.

Starting from this Fall, they are planning to turn their Bushwick headquarter into Ornithology Jazz Club.

From 8/12/2021, they will have fundraising events during GYS Yardbird Jam from 8 to 11pm on Thurdsdays for a month-long campaign.

Also, from 8/12, bi-weekly, from 6:30 to 7:30pm , there will be double event with GYS Greenbird Workshop, in which they invite special guest speakers from local grassroot nonprofits and businesses that are contributing to promote green urban living, woman's right, animal rights, food justice, and youth education.

GYS Greenbird Workshop will be virtually available for a week through Givebutter campaign page.

All the funding will go to create more jobs for Jazz artists through their projects, GYS Yardbird Jam and GYS Yardbird Jazz Messengers.
