In 2019, just before the pandemic, I was in the rare bunch of people who worked from home. Without a social network, as my colleagues were in New York at the time, I joined the local curling club as an outlet to meet new people and make new friends. Unbeknownst to me then was how tightly knit the curling community was. As an event producer of 20+ years, and due to my insane schedule, I decided to start a company called Corporate Curling in 2023 to give back to the curling community and to help grow the sport. After partnering with 2018 Gold Medalist Tyler George and Visit Duluth, the local CVB of Duluth, MN. The city holds an essential significance in my life. What the Plys family is doing with Project Joy is a testament to why the curling community is so unique. The sport's uniqueness and camaraderie of all who participate cannot be recreated. I'm looking forward to participating in this year's House of Hearts and adding another fun moment to my life while helping a great cause in a great city with a community that embodies the spirit of curling.
